1. Kedarnath

Kedarnath is a temple town in the Himalayas in Uttarakhand. It is a popular tourist destination and also one of the best places to visit in India. It’s also a great place to visit in the Garhwal region, including Dehradun and Haridwar.

Even before Buddha came here and preached his Dhamma (teachings), Kedarnath was an important pilgrimage center. The word kedarnath means ‘the abode of Shiva‘. This name became popular after Shri Krishna performed tapasya at this place during his penance (tapasya means meditation).

2. Nainital

Nainital, also known as the Queen of the Hills, is a beautiful town in Uttarakhand. It has been called one of India’s most picturesque and beautiful towns ever since Maharaja Kumaonindra Singha built it in 1834-35.
